Ministry of Industry trying to improve competitiveness and strengthen the domestic market is expected to positively impact the economy of Indonesia. Minister of Industry MS Hidayat said the increased capacity of the domestic industry should be driven by activity level verification component of the Interior (TKDN) in accordance with Presidential Instruction No.2/2009 on the Use of Domestic Product.

Textile businessman SNI Application Readiness Question

Indonesian Textile Association (API) to question the readiness of facilities and infrastructure implementation of Indonesia National Standard (SNI) on textile products and textile products (TPT), electronics and a host of other products. "In general, SNI was good, but to depend on the situation in Indonesia," said Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association Ade Sudrajat.

Government pursued foreign investment

The Government continues to boost foreign investment into the country, especially from countries that previously had a cooperation partner of ASEAN trade through regional agreements. Three countries, namely South Korea, Australia, and India are discussing bilateral cooperation plans, considered as a potential investor. The investment value of these three countries during 2010-2011 in Indonesia totaled USD1, 6 billion (about Rp14, 4 trillion).
