MYTX Performance Depressed Expensive Textile Raw Materials PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 31 August 2018

The price of expensive textile raw materials in the country makes PT Asia Pacific Investama Tbk can not do anything. The producers of yarn and fabric point to the policy of import duty antidumping (BMAD) as the cause.

The imposition of BMAD for imported raw materials causes downstream companies such as Asia Pacific to pay more.

Without mentioning the large increase in price, the raw materials they complain about are polyester staple fiber (PSF).

Asia Pacific must also compete with other business competitor in order to offer competitive prices to consumers.

"It is no longer competitive in the international market," said Carel Christanto Machmud, Director of PT Asia Pacific Investama Tbk

So far, Asia Pacific has not published its financial report in the first semester of 2018. Referring to the first quarter of 2018, raw material usage value reached Rp 519.04 billion or 87.38 percent of the total cost of goods sold Rp 594.03 billion.

Cost of goods sold in the first quarter of this year  exceeded the net sales of Asia Pacific Rp 580.31 billion. Similar conditions occurred in the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2017, net sales was Rp 337.49 billion, while cost of goods sold was Rp 357.18 billion. No wonder the Asia Pacific loses.

If expensive textile raw material prices continue, Asia Pacific believes that local textile industries in both export and domestic markets will be disrupted as a whole.

"Anti dumping PSF has been eight years, should have been more than enough to protect producers PSF in the country," said Carel.

Asia Pacific is determined to enlarge the export sales portion this year to 70%. The export destination of the listed company with MYTX stock code on the Indonesia Stock Exchange is to countries in Europe, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. Asia Pacific produces various textile products.

Kinerja MYTX Tertekan Mahalnya Bahan Baku Tekstil

Sejauh ini, Asia Pacific belum mempublikasikan laporan keuangan semester I 2018.

Pada kuartal I 2017, penjualan bersih tercatat Rp 337,49 miliar, sementara beban pokok penjualan Rp 357,18 miliar.

Asia Pacific memproduksi aneka produk tekstil.
