TEXTILE INDUSTRY: Exploring the Latin American market PDF Print E-mail

Manufacture of textiles and textile products (TPT) and the national footwear is exploring the Latin American market as the export market diversification measures. Textile and Miscellaneous Industries Director General of the Ministry of Industry Manufacturing Industry Base Build Ramon said a number of export destination countries economy both sectors is declining as the European market. For that, they need new markets to boost exports fell today.

 

According to him, the Caribbean is one of the export market in Latin America that has great potential and benefit Indonesia.

 

It was discussed when representatives of the Ministry of Industry met with representatives from Suriname some time ago. Although there is no certainty, Suriname potential to be the main entrance into the territory of the region's exports.

 

Until now, says Ramon, it was still the focus of the search for a suitable state entrance exports to the Latin American region.

 

"So, the textile industry and footwear must not be too focused to see the traditional market. Let's work on the export market. Possible next September, I and Mr. DG [Director General of the Ministry of Industry Manufacturing Industry Base Panggah Susanto] will be there, "he said.

 

He added that Suriname is considered a major potential market entrance because now there are many people from the island of Java which is a resident of that country.

 

In addition, the country's per capita income is much larger than Indonesia. However, there are still many people who work in agriculture and mining.

 

"Why do not we just work together with them? They may also be the Minister to come to Indonesia, "he said.

 

Ramon said the economic slowdown in the euro area also affect the performance of textile exports. Exports of textile products all over the world are expected to decline to 11%.

 

 

INDUSTRI TEKSTIL: Jajaki Pasar Amerika Latin

 

Industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) dan alas kaki nasional sedang menjajaki pasar Amerika Latin sebagai langkah diversifikasi pasar ekspor. Direktur Industri Tekstil dan Aneka Ditjen Basis Industri Manufaktur Kementerian Perindustrian Ramon Bangun mengatakan sejumlah ekonomi negara tujuan ekspor produk kedua sektor tersebut sedang melemah, seperti pasar Eropa. Untuk itu, diperlukan pasar negara baru untuk meningkatkan kinerja ekspor yang turun saat ini.

 

Menurutnya, Karibia merupakan salah satu pasar ekspor di wilayah Amerika Latin yang memiliki potensi besar dan menguntungkan Indonesia.

 

Hal itu dibahas saat perwakilan dari Kementerian Perindustrian bertemu dengan perwakilan dari Suriname beberapa waktu lalu. Meski belum ada kepastian, Suriname berpotensi menjadi pintu masuk utama ekspor menuju wilayah kawasan tersebut.

 

Hingga saat ini, ujar Ramon, pihaknya masih fokus mencari negara yang cocok untuk dijadikan pintu masuk ekspor ke wilayah Amerika Latin.

 

“Jadi, pelaku industri TPT dan alas kaki jangan lagi terlalu fokus melihat pasar tradisional. Mari garap pasar ekspor. Kemungkinan September mendatang, saya dan Pak Dirjen [Direktur Jenderal Basis Industri Manufaktur Kementerian Perindustrian Panggah Susanto] akan ke sana,” katanya.

 

Dia menambahkan Suriname dinilai menjadi pasar utama yang berpotensi menjadi pintu masuk karena saat ini masih banyak orang asal Pulau Jawa yang menjadi penduduk negara tersebut.

 

Selain itu, pendapatan per kapita negara itu jauh lebih besar dibandingkan dengan Indonesia. Akan tetapi, penduduknya masih banyak yang bekerja di sektor pertanian dan pertambangan.

 

“Kenapa kita tidak kerja sama saja dengan mereka? Menteri mereka kemungkinan juga kan datang ke Indonesia,” tuturnya.

 

Ramon mengatakan perlambatan ekonomi di wilayah Eropa juga memengaruhi kinerja ekspor TPT. Ekspor produk TPT di seluruh dunia diperkirakan akan menurun hingga 11%.
