Textile Exports Down Java Fueled Global Economy PDF Print E-mail

Global economic conditions were not improved impact on the demand for export goods from Central Java to many countries. Products from Central Java is a mainstay of export commodities namely textiles and textile articles as well as wood and wood products also declined.

Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Java Liliek Setiawan said during these actors textile exports still rely on sales to traditional markets.


That is, the markets that already exist in some countries become the main destination for exports actors in Central Java. As a result, when the traditional markets experiencing a global crisis, according to Liliek, domestic exporters also distraught that ultimately the value of exports sag.


Currently, there are only four export destinations for textile goods from Central Java namely the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Japan. "Employers may continue to boost production capacity, but the demand is reduced for what," he said to Bisnis this weekend.



Ekspor Tekstil Jateng Turun Dipicu Ekonomi Global



Kondisi perekonomian global yang belum membaik berdampak pada penurunan permintaan barang ekspor dari Jawa Tengah ke berbagai negara. Produk dari Jateng yang menjadi andalan komoditas ekspor yakni tekstil dan barang tekstil serta kayu dan barang dari kayu turut merosot.


Wakil Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Jateng Liliek Setiawan mengatakan selama ini pelaku ekspor tekstil masih mengandalkan penjualan ke pasar tradisional.


Artinya, pasar-pasar yang sudah ada di sejumlah negara menjadi tujuan utama para pelaku ekspor di Jateng. Alhasil, saat pasar tradisional mengalami krisis global, menurut Liliek, eksportir domestik turut kelimpungan yang akhirnya nilai eskpor jeblok.


Saat ini, hanya ada empat negara tujuan ekspor untuk barang tekstil dari Jateng yakni Amerika Serikat, Eropa, Timur Tengah dan Jepang. “Pengusaha bisa saja terus menggenjot kapasitas produksi, tapi permintaan berkurang buat apa,” paparnya kepada Bisnis, akhir pekan ini.
