US Dollar USD 14,600, Textile Entrepreneurs Still Safe PDF Print E-mail

The global economic crisis impacted on many countries in the world. Strengthening of the US dollar (US) never be dammed by the currencies in many countries, particularly developing countries. Rupiah has also become one of the victims. The dollar has now passed the level of USD 14,600.

That level is far from past the assumption of government in the State Budget (APBN) changes in 2015 is pegged at Rp 12,500.

Textile entrepreneurs who are members of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) admits that they secure by movement exchange rate. Due to the weakening impact can still be muted by the various strategies by companies.

"It's still safe, we see limit up in what position," said Chairman of API Ade Sudrajat

Seeing the condition of the global economy, strengthening of the US dollar will continue and make rupiah weakened. This is the impact of the decision of the Central Bank of the United States (US) Federal Reserve (Fed) that hold the benchmark rate which resulted in extending the period of uncertainty in financial markets.

Ade added, since the beginning of last year, this condition has been calculated carefully. Even the dollar limits are set and are regarded as vulnerable for the industry is Rp 18,000

"We stuck if it is calculated to Rp 18,000 as projections that determined early years. That is the limit of tolerance," said Ade.

When passing the limit of Rp 18,000, then the resulting product is not competitive anymore, because the price becomes more expensive. Moreover, with the upstream and downstream conditions in the textile industry is still not harmonized. Some policies still inhibit such as electricity tariffs, import duties on raw materials and others.

"If we already are already so many that will reduce the number of working hours. If Rp 18,000 already do not hope anymore. The impact will be larger, will be massive layoffs," he said.

Dolar AS Rp 14.600, Pengusaha Tekstil Masih Aman
