Textile Entrepreneurs Proposed Labor  Minimum Age 17 Years Because Difficult Looking for Workers, Company textiles in Central Java is currently having trouble finding employees. Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API), Ade Sudrajat revealed, it suggested that the government amend the provisions of the minimum age of recruitment formal, from the current 18 years, being the age of 17 years.

 

"Factories difficult to find employment. There is a stigma find new energy is very difficult, we tk could employ if he was not yet 18 years old. According to Ade, other countries beyond any set age are allowed to work which is 17 years. If the regulation is revised, it will be of little help factories are having trouble finding employees, especially the textile industry is labor-intensive.

 

"Other ASEAN countries set 17 years. This means that if let unemployed people a year, it's a big loss, we are bound by it. If we hire the age of 17 years, we could presupposed employ minors," he explained.

 

Ade continues, other problems facing the textile company is the majority of employees live far outside the factory premises. Therefore, he asked the government to provide special housing for employees of a textile factory.

 

He added that the textile factory in Central Java are experiencing labor shortages, spread in Boyolali, Karanganyar, Solo, Wonogiri, Sragen, and Bawen.

 

 

Pengusaha Tekstil Usul Usia Minimal Tenaga Kerja 17 Tahun Karena Sulit Mencari Pekerja

 

 

Perusahaan tektil di Jawa Tengah saat ini kesulitan mencari karyawan. Dampaknya, pabrik-pabrik tekstil banyak yang kesulitan meningkatkan skala produksi, bahkan beberapa di antaranya mengalami penurunan produksi karena sulit mencari pekerja.

 

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API), Ade Sudrajat mengungkapkan, pihaknya mengusulkan agar pemerintah mengubah ketentuan usia minimal perekrutan tenaga kerja formal, dari saat ini 18 tahun, menjadi umur 17 tahun.

 

"Pabrik-pabrik sulit cari tenaga kerja. Ada stigma cari tenaga baru sangat sulit, kita tk bisa pekerjakan kalau usianya belum 18 tahun. Padahal, rakyat dinyatakan dewasa kalau sudah 17 tahun, boleh kawin dan sebagainya, ini ada dikotomi tafsir dewasa," ujarnya ditemui di kantor API, Wisma Surveyor Indonesia, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta.

 

Menurut Ade, negara-negara lain di luar pun menetapkan usia yang diizinkan bekerja yakni 17 tahun. Jika regulasi tersebut direvisi, hal tersebut akan sedikit membantu pabrik-pabrik yang kesulitan mencari karyawan, khususnya tekstil yang merupakan industri padat karya.

 

"Negara ASEAN lain tetapkan 17 tahun. Artinya kalau membiarkan rakyat menganggur setahun, itu kerugian besar, kita terlalu terikat dengan ketentuan itu. Kalau kita pekerjakan yang usia 17 tahun, kita bisa dipersangkakan pekerjakan anak di bawah umur," jelasnya.

 

Ade melanjutkan, masalah lain yang dihadapi perusahaan tekstil adalah sebagian besar karyawan tinggal jauh di luar lokasi pabrik. Oleh sebab itu, dia meminta pemerintah menyediakan hunian khusus untuk karyawan pabrik tekstil.

 

Dia menambahkan, pabrik tekstil di Jawa Tengah yang mengalami kekurangan tenaga kerja, tersebar di Boyolali, Karanganyar, Surakarta,Wonogiri, Sragen, dan Bawen.
