Indonesia ready for the TPP. The textile industry claimed that the Indonesian was ready to re-join the free trade Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). However, there are some rules that must be met for the export of apparel in order to get the facility of the agreement.

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat Usman said, there are provisions in the TPP to be followed to obtain tariff cutting facilities. One of them is the yarn forward rule of origin .

"So apparel exports who want to get cutting tariffs, the manufacturing process starting from yarn to garment fabrics made by TPP member countries," said.

If you already meet these rules, get new apparel exports cutting import duty to 0%.

Ade explained that Indonesia fortunate to own the textile industry from upstream to downstream. Only, cotton and textile finishing is not owned. "Spinning our own good, maybe the rules were going to get from other countries such as Malaysia," said Ade.

So, Ade said, the textile industry is the most ready when Indonesia into the TPP. "Spinning we are good, just finishing textiles such as provision of color, design, and print images that are less," he added.

For your information, there are 12 countries that are members of the Trans Pacific Partnership, namely the United States, Canada, Chile, Japan, Brunei, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Vietnam, Singapore, and Australia. Currently the duty garments to the United States reached 17.5%. "Compared to Vietnam can only 5%," said Ade.

Indonesia Siap Hadapi TPP

Indonesia siap menghadapi TPP.
