The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) together with the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry encourage greater logistics performance homeland. Therefore, the logistics performance homeland still inferior to neighboring countries, such as Singapore and Vietnam.

Logistics performance improvement needs to be done to improve the competitiveness of investments in Indonesia. To that end, the government is committed to form Bonded Logistics Center (PLB).

Head of BKPM, Franky Sibarani say, the average time of export and import process in Indonesia reached 3.5 days, whereas in Singapore only 2 days and in Vietnam just one day. Even the logistics costs in Indonesia could reach $ 573, while in Vietnam only 45 percent of Indonesia and Singapore is only half of it.

"With PLB (Bonded Logistics Centre), the government wants to make Indonesia as a logistics distribution center of national and international are cheap and efficient. As well as supporting the growth of the domestic industry," said Franky.

According to him, PLB not only serves to move the warehouses stockpiling goods exports and imports into Indonesia for domestic needs. However PLB also serves to Indonesia into the relationship of logistics in Asia Pacific.

PLB is not just targeting large-scale industry, but also for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). "The most important thing PLB could lower national logistics costs, improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the global market, while stimulating the nation's exports," he added.

Thus, the government set 11 PLB throughout Indonesia, Java, Kalimantan, and Sumatra. In addition, there are 10 bonded logistics center is still being established, one of which Java and Ports Integrated Industrial Estate (jipe).

"The process of PLB will get improved and increased so that over time we will improve the service and support investment in Indonesia," said Franky.

Kepala  BKPM: Proses ekspor Indonesia 3,5 hari
