The decline in exports is predicted to occur in the period of 2016. The Ministry of Trade (Trade) predicts the value of exports in 2016 would contract or down 5 percent of the achievements in 2015 which amounted to USD142 billion. This prediction is in line with the unstable global economic conditions.

"The global economy has not been too good so that exports in 2016 a contraction of 0 to 5 percent," said Director General of Export Development (PEN) Nus Nuzulia Isaac in the Office of Trade, on Tuesday (04/12/2016).

He calls 60 percent of Indonesia's export products consist of 10 key commodities. Among other things, CPO, textiles, rubber, wood products such as furniture to processed foods.

"The dominant one in 10 of our main commodity, CPO, TPT (textiles), rubber, forest products (forestry) such as furniture, jewelery and so on, our exports, 60 percent of 10 commodities," he said.

Indeed, Nus explained there was no decrease in export volume. What happens is that the decline in commodity prices led to a contraction in export value.

"Primary products were rubber (rubber) decreased quite sharply later other commodity prices such as coal, agricultural commodity, decreased quite sharply as world oil prices fell so the decline if the volume is not happening quite sharp, but because the value of primary commodities have an impact on the value of exports," he said.

Kementrian Perdagangan :Prediksi Ekspor 2016 Terjun hingga 5%

"Ekonomi global belum terlalu baik sehingga ekspor 2016 terjadi kontraksi 0 sampai 5 persen," papar Direktur Jenderal Pengembangan Ekspor Nasional (PEN) Nus Nuzulia Ishak di Kantor Kemendag, Selasa (12/4/2016).
