Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat Usman said this year it is still holding company expansion. Because he continued, when market conditions are still not conducive. Ade said, employers still will wait and see on the economic conditions in the country. Although commodity prices began to improve, he said he would resist expansion by year-end

According to Ade, yet there are signs of improved demand. Accordingly, it also did not increase the need for capital goods and raw materials, but chose to use raw material reserves.

"So we do efficiency, do not buy a new machine also did not buy raw materials that are not considered necessary," he added.

Earlier, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded in capital goods imports in the first three months of this year amounted to US $ 5.3 billion. This figure decreased 18.21% compared with imports of capital goods to the same period the previous year which stood at US $ 6.48 billion.

While in the first quarter of 2015, 2014, and 2013, respectively recorded a decrease of 10.12%, 6.49% and 15.92% year on year (YoY). In fact, the performance of capital goods imports before 2013 continues to record gains.

Not only that, the import of raw and auxiliary materials from January to March, 2016 stood at US $ 23.5 billion. The figure was also lower compared to the same period in the year. In fact, the decline has been the trend since the first quarter of 2014.

Tekstil Belum Menikmati Kenaikan Harga Komoditas

Sementara pada kuartal pertama tahun 2015, 2014, dan 2013, masing-masing mencatatkan penurunan sebesar 10,12%, 6,49%, dan 15,92% year on year (YoY). Padahal, kinerja impor barang modal sebelum tahun 2013 terus mencatat kenaikan.
