Textile Industry Requested Focus to Segment Middle Up PDF Print E-mail

Minister of Industry Saleh Husin said if the textile industry and textile products (TPT) should begin to focus on the upper middle target. Currently the national textile industry has been known to have good quality in the international market, so it can become a strong capital to penetrate the global market.

 

"It is therefore important for Indonesia to position itself in the upper middle segment more aggressively to start introducing branding Indonesia," said Saleh

 

According to Saleh, the textile industry is now not only produces products for clothing or clothing alone. But has developed into non-clothing textile industry. In fact, many are used for material toll road infrastructure development, agro-textiles, medical, food & beverage industry to the automotive industry and other manufacturing industries consumption.

 

Types of industry popularly called non-woven industrial commodities whose market is vast and huge demand. The industry recorded an average growth of 9.9 percent per year in the last five years. "Indonesia could only supply 0.47 percent of the world needs," Saleh explained.

 

Textile industry, said Saleh, must increase competitiveness, improve quality, and make the appropriate product standards and ensure the health, safety, security for its users. With courage put up a competitive price, Saleh is optimistic that the textile industry can continue to thrive.

 

Textile industry accounts for exports in February 2016 amounted to 6.81 percent. This figure increases when compared to the previous period in month on month. "Textile industry is a labor-intensive industry, which is able to absorb the labor force of 1.5 million people, or about 10.36 percent of the workforce in the industrial sector," said Saleh.

 

 

Industri Tekstil Diminta Fokus ke Segmen Menengah Ke Atas

 

 

Menteri Perindustrian Saleh Husin menggatakan jika industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) harus mulai berfokus pada sekmen menengah ke atas. Saat ini Industri TPT nasional telah dikenal memiliki kualitas yang baik di pasar internasional, sehingga dapat menjadi modal yang kuat  menembus pasar global.

 

"Oleh karena itu penting bagi Indonesia untuk memposisikan diri pada segmen menengah ke atas secara lebih agresif dengan mulai memperkenalkan branding Indonesia," ujar Saleh

 

Menurut  Saleh, industri tekstil saat ini tak hanya menghasilkan produk untuk kebutuhan sandang atau pakaian saja. Namun  telah berkembang menjadi industri tekstil non sandang. Bahkan banyak juga yang digunakan untuk material pembangunan infrastruktur jalan tol, agro-textiles, medis, industri makanan & minuman sampai industri otomotif serta industri manufaktur konsumsi lainnya.

 

Jenis industri ini populer disebut komoditi industri non woven yang pasarnya luas dan permintaannya besar. Industri ini mencatat pertumbuhan rata-rata 9,9 persen per tahun dalam lima tahun terakhir. "Indonesia baru bisa menyuplai 0,47 persen dari kebutuhan dunia," Saleh menjelaskan.

 

Industri TPT, kata Saleh, harus menambah daya saing, meningkatkan mutu, serta membuat produk yang sesuai standar dan menjamin kesehatan, keselamatan, keamanan bagi penggunanya. Dengan keberanian memasang harga yang kompetitif, Saleh optimistis industri TPT dapat terus berkembang.

 

Industri TPT menyumbang ekspor pada Februari 2016 sebesar 6,81 persen. Angka ini meningkat bila dibandingkan periode sebelumnya secara month on month. "Industri TPT merupakan industri padat karya, yang mampu menyerap tenaga kerja sebanyak 1,5 juta orang atau sekitar 10,36 persen tenaga kerja di sektor industri," kata Saleh.
