BI Still Optimistic Economic Growth Reaches 5.3% PDF Print E-mail

Bank Indonesia assess Indonesia's economic growth target of 5.3 percent is still possible to be reached until the end of 2016 with one of them requires a boost acceleration of budget disbursement. Mirza said the acceleration of budget disbursement should be encouraged by all departments, ministries and local governments so that there is hope of better economic growth in the second quarter compared to the first quarter, reaching only 4.92 percent.

"In the first quarter of budget disbursement in the region is still low, should continue to be encouraged hopefully the third quarter and the fourth quarter could have been better so as to reach 5.2 to 5.3 percent is still something that may be achieved. If to reach 5.6 per cent is still too early, "said BI Senior Deputy Governor Adityaswara Mirza at the launch BINDESIA at Cilankap, Depok, West Java, on Saturday.

According to him, the economic slowdown in the first quarter does not only happen in Indonesia, such as neighboring countries such as Singapore grew only about 1 per cent, Thailand at under 2 percent, even China is only about 6.5 percent.

China's economic growth has affected the significant decline in commodity prices such as in mines and plantations of up to 70-80 percent.

The fall in commodity prices also affect the region producing similar commodities, such as Sumatra and Borneo, each contributing 20 percent and 9 percent of the Indonesian economy.

In addition to a slowing of the Chinese economy, the effect of the economic slowdown in Indonesia was also affected by the US central bank the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates, causing financial turmoil in many countries.

"The slowdown is too deep turmoil coupled with interest rates that occurred in 2013-2015. Both of these factors that make the economic slowdown, "said Mirza.

Nevertheless, he remains optimistic that economic growth target of 5.3 per cent can be achieved because the Chinese economy began to show signs of recovery so that the prices of some commodities, such as oil palm, rubber, nickel and tin began to increase, although not significant.

Delay interest rate hikes the Fed also made a more stable exchange rate so that the manufacturing industry in Java that require imported goods can move back and accounted for 60 percent of Indonesia's economy

BI Masih Optimis Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Capai 5,3 %

Bank Indonesia menilai target pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia sebesar 5,3 persen masih memungkinkan dicapai hingga akhir 2016 dengan memerlukan dorongan salah satunya percepatan pencairan anggaran.
