The Ministry of Industry (Ministry of Industry) continues to encourage the competitiveness of the textile industry and textile products (TPT) the country through incentives, in order to compete with other countries, especially Vietnam. The Ministry of Finance (MOF) said also issued regulations governing incentives to employers in the textile industry

Minister of Industry (Industry) Saleh Husin said, basically the government wants to provide incentives to businesses in the textile industry in order to compete.

"If no one PMK (Regulation of the Minister of Finance) was out to give incentives to the textile region. Because we have to compete with neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam," he said in Cipete Market, Jakarta, Sunday (12/6 / 2016).

According to him, the textile industry in Vietnam is very advanced. Moreover, the country has the advantage of already established cooperation because free trade with EU countries, as well as entry into a member of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).

"They are not taxed, so as to export to their country 0%. If we charged about 17%. That is why our products less competitive. The President wants us to open cooperation with the EU, TPP, so that our products can enter and become market big enough, "he added.

The government continued Saleh, also provide fiscal incentives such as tax holiday and tax allowance. With the stimulus, the Indonesian textile industry is expected to compete with other countries.

In addition, textile products also recorded one of the biggest foreign exchange earner for Indonesia. Approximately USD13,5 billion to $ 14 billion per year of foreign exchange earned from the industry.

"But Vietnam had USD22 billion to USD23 billion. So we are quite behind. This is what we should strive for. The period we lost it with a new start. We must also cooperate with the textile workers to get ahead, so that workers gain pleasure, businessman also get a reasonable profit, and sellers can also be a reasonable profit as well, "he said.
