The Ministry of Industry (Ministry of Industry) plans to provide special incentives to the textile industry and textile products (TPT) in order to boost the value of national exports. Giving 'vitamin' from the government is expected to increase the productivity of the national textile industry in order to compete with neighboring countries such as Vietnam. Incentives will be given in the form of refund of energy by replacing the electric charge of the textile industry who want to export.

"The bottom line is we can give stimulus to businesses in the textile industry so that they can compete with our neighboring countries including Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam," said Minister of Industry, Saleh Husin

Vietnam textile industry is now becoming one of the industry's most advanced in Southeast Asia. The Vietnamese government has established cooperation with the EU and other countries in Asia Pacific.

The cooperation between customs exemption is to export to Europe and the United States (US), on the contrary these countries impose tariffs of 17% for the Indonesian textile products so that local products are less able to compete internationally.

"And we know Vietnam today's issue of textiles advanced enough for their right to have the cooperation the European Economic Community with the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) so that exports to the European and American countries right their zero percent, but if we're subjected to guess about 17%. It was the product we are less able to compete, "said Saleh.

Following up on this, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has written to the Minister of Industry to increase its cooperation with the international community to increase the export value of textile products Indonesia abroad.

"The President wants us to cooperate with Europe or in the future with the TPP so that the future products we could all these countries so that we are a larger market," said Saleh.

The government will also provide fiscal incentives such as tax allowances and tax holidays to the domestic textile industry in order to raise productivity. With this policy, Saleh expects the export value of textiles and textile products (TPT) Indonesia can compete with other countries.

"In addition, we also have the other fiscal incentives, for example tax holiday, tax allowance that's we provide. As we give incentives like that we expect our textile industry can compete with other countries," said Saleh

Saleh said that foreign exchange can be generated from the national textile industry reached US $ 14 billion per year, while Vietnam is still far above the value reached US $ 23 billion per year.

To minimize these imbalances, the Ministry of Industry targets the foreign exchange contribution of national textile industry could reach US $ 20 billion per year.

"We must pursue if it could be up to US $ 20 billion per year-not bad by providing various incentives," added Saleh.

Pemberian Insentif Untuk Industri Tekstil Agar Dapat Bersaing Dengan Vietnam
