Employers in Pekalongan batik and textile complained increasingly lack of supply of coal from Cirebon, West Java, consequently employers have to spend the high cost of buying coal. A member of parliament Pekalongan Nurkholish, during a visit to the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) Cirebon, said Wednesday that batik entrepreneurs and textiles in the region many Yag complain, it was because the employers difficult to obtain coal and also the high cost of coal at another place.

"Employers and textile batik in Pekalongan today many are complaining," he said.

They are currently difficult to obtain supplies of coal from the Port of Cirebon Cirebon due to the closure of coal loading and unloading activities. In fact, nearly 60 percent of coal supplies from Cirebon, as a result they were forced to take coal from Semarang. Due to the lack of coal supplies from other regions, as a result of coal supply was wholly derived from Semarang and the price is very high. "Therefore we are very hopeful of Cirebon coal supplies could soon recover," he said.

He said coal demand for textiles and batik factory for a number of factories in Pekalongan, can reach more than 1000 tons per month. "In fact there is one plant that need supplies of coal and 500 tons per month," he said.

As is known since late February, the Port of Cirebon that become lean and unloading for coal was already closed for the commodity.

So that the coal barges must choose another port for unloading whom to Marunda Port in Jakarta, Tegal to Semarang.
