PT Asia Pacific Fibers Tbk admitted failing to achieve the production target in the first half of 2016. Initially, the company is targeting production of 162,000 tons to 163,000 tons in the period. Domestic textile industry is still not able to pump textile demand ahead of Eid and the new school year this year. As a result, the production of textile businessmen tend to stagnate.

What lane realization is only 156,000 tons with details, fiber filament 71,000 tons and 69,000 tons.

According to Ravi Shankar, President Director of Asia Pacific Fibers, this condition is inseparable from a lackluster market that create demand ahead of Eid is not so great. "I suspect Lebaran could increase demand, it is not," he said

PT Indorama Synthetic Tbk also not tasted the joy of blessing the new school year as well as Ramadan this time. "Our production is still normal and we do not see any significant impact to our business," said Vishnu Swaroop Baldwa, Chief Executive Officer of Indorama Synthetic

According to Ade Sudrajat Usman, Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API), in truth there is an increase demand for textiles in the period from May to June is the 4% -5%. However, this increase has not been able to cover the deficits that have occurred since the beginning of January 2016 ago.

"Half of this one was hard for us. The textile industry fell by 1% -2%," he said

He blamed the rampant proliferation of imported products in the domestic market, making local products difficult to compete. Imported products it offered so cheaply local textile companies overwhelmed. "The price is too expensive. Producers in the country rather difficult to deal with," complains Ravi.

However, textile manufacturers such as Ravi still think positively for the next six months. He hopes there will be increased demand from export. So that growth in the second half of this could be 10% higher than the first half of 2016.

The company launched moves to boost the export market. When originally Asia Fibers fiber mengkespor 10% of total production, then it will be 20%. Then export the filaments are 25% -28% will be driven to 30% -35%.
