Textile Industry Must Exploration Again Local Markets PDF Print E-mail

"The portion of the local textile in the domestic market increasingly depressed. Until the end of the year, the number is estimated well below 30% and government stimulus in the form of discounts on electricity tariffs are not able to boost the performance of the textile industry, "said Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API), Ade Sudrajat.

Textiles and textile products (TPT) can not develop the domestic market because purchasing power is still weak.

Currently, according to Ade, the textile industry sector requires a change in the trading system, especially anti-dumping policy.

"As long as there is no change in the mindset and administration, we are still in trouble. Let alone this year, if the mindset does not change, we still lose, there should be a specific strategy, "he said.

In fact, continued Ade, Lebaran period is not able to boost sales of the textile industry in the domestic market. If nothing changes, the domestic industry could lead to the closure of the mass, as production decreases and the market is still weak.

"The domestic industry is now as life would not hesitate to die. This could lead to the closure of the bulk but do not know when, due to reduced production and production costs are expensive, "he said.

Ade added, alternative industry that can be done is to widen the export market to non-traditional countries, such as Iran and Turkey.

"We will try to leave for Turkey and Iran in the near future to meet with buyers there," said Ade.

Industri TPT Harus Ekspolarasi Lagi Pasar Lokal
