Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) District Semarang, Agung Wahono mention of textile and fiber nationwide dropped 4.8 percent in the first half of this year. That's because the purchase amount from the buyer is weak."The slowing down purchases and demand from buyers in Q1 2016 influenced by the decline in textile exports. Not only that, the price of raw materials is likely to be high was also affecting the textile industry is not growing," he said.

The fall in the value of textile exports in 2016 reached 2,962 million US dollars, while last year, the export amount was recorded 3.111 million US dollars.

"Not only exports textiles and fiber are decreased, the garment was also decreased 0.4 percent with a value of 1,793 million US dollars in 2016 compared to last year 1,797juta American dollars," he explained.

He said the decline in both exports of garments and textiles are not only due to sluggish overseas buyers, but many raw materials are imported from China.

"Yarn as the main raw material lots imported from China, because of the cotton in the same expensive, so they prefer to import yarn. Therefore, imported raw materials was also relatively high thus affecting the decline of textile and garment exports," he said.

Harga Bahan Baku Tekstil Pengaruhi Ekspor
