The Ministry of Industry spur development Industrial Estate Kendal (KIK) to enhance the development and competitiveness of the textile industry and textile products (TPT) national. Airlangga said about them after a meeting with the Director KIK Hyanto Wihadhi who is also the Director of Jababeka Group at the Ministry of Industry.

 

 

"We strongly support the development of Industrial Estate Kendal, especially their special cluster integrated textile industry from upstream to downstream," said Industry Minister Airlangga Hartanto via press release on Tuesday.

 

 

Hopefully, the textile industry in the region KIK able to increase the added value and competitiveness of textile products in the domestic and export markets.

 

Because, in the industrial area will be set up City Fashion City Fashion or integrated with an area of ​​100 hectares.

 

In the city of Mide it would be equipped with several facilities, including raw material supply centers, shopping, exhibitions, as well as research and development of textile products. "From the diversity of the facilities provided, employment will be many more," said Airlangga.

 

Based on the record of the Ministry of Industry, the textile industry is labor-intensive sectors that can create jobs for 1.5 million people or 10.36 percent of the workforce in the industrial sector. In February 2016, the value of industrial exports rose by 6.81 percent compared to the previous period (month on month).

 

In Indonesia alone, the activity of textile production have been integrated from upstream to downstream, even products are also known to have good quality in the international market. Non woven products that include materials used for the construction of highway infrastructure, agro textiles, medical, food and beverage industry, the automotive industry and other manufacturing industries consumption.

 

KIK is located in District Kaliwungu and Brangsong, Kendal regency, Central Java, is scheduled to be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo, attended by Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong on August 25, 2016.

 

KIK development is a joint venture between Graha Buana Cikarang, a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk Indonesia Singapore company Sembcorp Development Pte.Ltd., A subsidiary Sembawang Development Ltd.

 

KIK development is done in two stages, the first of 1,000 ha and the second area of ​​1,200 ha. This area will be combined with the construction of residential, industrial zone and smart fashion city.

 

Until now, a total of 12 companies have been entered in the CIC with a total of 20 ha of land were sold. Investors were from Indonesia, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Japan with a variety of industry sectors such as furniture, food, and steel.

 

The companies include PT. Wai Tat Industries, PT. APP Timber construction phase, PT. Praya, PT. Sugih double Arthaboga, and Steel Fabricator Company. Target investor other sectors, namely electronics, automotive, and chemical base.

 

 

Kawasan industri Tekstil Kendal Terus Dikembangkan

 

 

Kementerian Perindustrian memacu pembangunan Kawasan Industri Kendal (KIK) untuk meningkatkan pengembangan dan daya saing industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) nasional.

 

"Kami sangat mendukung pembangunan Kawasan Industri Kendal, terutama adanya klaster khusus industri tekstil yang terintegrasi dari hulu sampai hilir," kata Menteri Perindustrian Airlangga Hartarto lewat siaran pers di Jakarta, Selasa.

 

Airlangga menyampaikan hal tersebut usai melakukan pertemuan dengan Direktur KIK Hyanto Wihadhi yang juga Direktur Jababeka Group di Kementerian Perindustrian.

 

Diharapkan, industri TPT di kawasan KIK mampu meningkatkan nilai tambah dan daya saing produk tekstil di pasar domestik dan ekspor.

 

Pasalnya, di kawasan industri tersebut akan didirikan Kota Mode atau Fashion City yang terintegrasi dengan luas 100 hektar.

 

Di Kota Mide itu bakal dilengkapi beberapa fasilitas, di antaranya pusat penyediaan bahan baku, perbelanjaan, pameran, serta penelitian dan pengembangan produk tekstil. “Dari beragamnya fasilitas yang disediakan, penyerapan tenaga kerja akan semakin banyak,” ujar Airlangga.

 

Berdasarkan catatan Kemenperin, industri TPT merupakan sektor padat karya yang mampu menyerap tenaga kerja sebanyak 1,5 juta orang atau sebesar 10,36 persen tenaga kerja di sektor industri. Pada Februari 2016, nilai ekspor industri ini naik sebesar 6,81 persen jika dibandingkan periode sebelumnya (month on month).

 

Di Indonesia sendiri, aktivitas produksi tekstil telah terintegrasi dari hulu sampai hilir, bahkan produknya juga dikenal memiliki kualitas yang baik di pasar internasional. “Kami akan mendorong industri TPT nasional menghasilkan produk non-woven. Ini bagian strategi diversifikasi produk sekaligus perluasan pemasaran ekspor,” tutur Airlangga.

 

Produk non woven itu di antaranya digunakan untuk material pembangunan infrastruktur jalan tol, agro textiles, medis, industri makanan dan minuman, industri otomotif serta industri manufaktur konsumsi lainnya.

 

KIK yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Kaliwungu dan Brangsong, Kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Tengah ini rencananya akan diresmikan langsung oleh Presiden Joko Widodo dengan dihadiri Perdana Menteri Singapura Lee Hsien Loong pada 25 Agustus 2016.
