Government: Industries Gas Prices Targeted Decrease Below 6 US Dollars Per MMBtu PDF Print E-mail

Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartanto targeting gas prices for industry could fall below 6 dollars per Million British Thermal Units (MMBtu). The price of the same level is needed to boost industrial growth and also boost the competitiveness of domestic industry.

 

"We are targeting under 6 dollars. We will create a lot of scenarios, all made at prices below the 6 dollars" said Airlangga in the Ministry of Industry, Jakarta.

 

Airlangga asserted, the decline in gas prices will not reduce revenues, but instead will give added value to the national economy.

 

Meanwhile, based on the calculation of Economic and Social Research Institute of the University of Indonesia (UI LPEM) a decrease in the price of natural gas to 4 dollars per MMBtu would reduce state revenue of Rp 53.86 trillion.

 

But it would increase tax receipts variety of industrial derivatives of Rp 85.84 trillion, so there is a surplus of receipts Rp 31.97 trillion.

 

Complaining about the price of gas is expensive

 

Business actors Textiles and textile products (TPT) expects a decline in industrial gas prices.

 

"We have the upstream industry, the gas consumption is huge. But this is still subject to the upstream price is far more expensive than Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia," said Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat.

 

In addition, the domestic fertilizer industry also have the same hope that the decline in gas prices.

 

"If you want to compete, then the gas prices that we receive should be equal to the international price of 1-3 dollars per MMBtu," said President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia Aas Asikin Idat.

 

Furthermore, the Association of Food and Beverage (GAPMMI) also expect the gas pricing policy competitive industry which is about 6 US dollars per MMBtu.

 

On these issues, the government is working on for the price of gas industry in Indonesia can compete with other countries and be able to support the growth of industrial homeland.

 

Based on data from the Ministry of Industry, industrial gas prices in Indonesia touched the figure of US $ 8-US $ 10 per MMBtu, are still more expensive than the ASEAN countries.

 

Industrial gas prices in Singapore about 4 dollars-five dollars per MMBtu, Malaysia 4.47 US dollars per MMBtu, Philippines 5,43dollar US per MMBtu, and in Vietnam about 7.5 US dollars per MMBtu.

 

 

Pemerintah : Harga Gas Industri Ditargetkan Turun di Bawah 6 Dollar AS per MMbtu

 

Menteri Perindustrian Airlangga Hartarto menargetkan harga gas untuk industri bisa turun menjadi di bawah 6 dollar AS per Million British Thermal Unit (MMbtu). Harga selevel itu diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan industri dan juga mendorong daya saing industri dalam negeri.

 

"Kami targetkan di bawah 6 dollar AS. Kami akan buat banyak skenario, semua dibuat dengan harga di bawah 6 dollar AS" ujar Airlangga di Kementerian Perindustrian, Jakarta.

 

Airlangga menegaskan, penurunan harga gas tidak akan mengurangi penerimaan negara, namun sebaliknya akan memberikan nilai tambah pada perekonomian nasional.

 

Sementara itu, berdasarkan perhitungan Lembaga Penyelidikan Ekonomi dan Masyarakat Universitas Indonesia (LPEM UI) penurunan harga gas bumi menjadi 4 dolar AS per MMbtu akan menurunkan penerimaan negara sebesar Rp 53,86 triliun.

 

Namun akan meningkatkan penerimaan berbagai pajak dari industri turunannya sebesar Rp 85,84 triliun sehingga ada surplus penerimaan Rp 31,97 triliun.

 

Keluhkan harga gas mahal 

 

Pelaku usaha Tekstil dan Produk Tekstil (TPT) mengharapkan adanya penurunan harga gas industri.

 

"Kami ini industri hulu, maka konsumsi gas sangat besar. Tapi di hulu ini masih dikenakan harga yang jauh lebih mahal dibandingkan Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, dan Malaysia," ujar Ketua Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudrajat.

 

Selain itu, industri pupuk dalam negeri juga memiliki harapan yang sama yaitu penurunan harga gas.

 

"Jika ingin bersaing, maka harga gas yang kami terima harus sama dengan harga internasional yakni 1-3 dollar AS per MMbtu," ujar Direktur Utama PT Pupuk Indonesia Aas Asikin Idat.

 

Selanjutnya, Gabungan Pengusaha Makanan dan Minuman (GAPMMI) juga mengharapkan kebijakan harga gas industri yang bersaing yakni sekitar 6 dollar AS per MMbtu.

 

Atas persoalan tersebut, saat ini pemerintah tengah mengupayakan agar harga gas industri di Indonesia dapat bersaing dengan negara lain dan dapat mendukung tumbuh kembangnya industri tanah air.

 

Berdasarkan data Kemenperin, harga gas industri di Indonesia menyentuh angka 8 dollar AS-10 dollar AS per MMbtu, masih lebih mahal dibandingkan dengan negara-negara ASEAN.

 

Harga gas industri di Singapura sekitar 4 dollar AS-5 dollar AS per MMbtu, di Malaysia 4,47 dollar AS per MMbtu, di Filipina 5,43dollar AS per MMbtu, dan di Vietnam sekitar 7,5 dollar AS per MMbtu.
