Idris expects, batik as an Indonesian cultural heritage more loved and continue to show their existence in society Depok, and encourage creative economic factor for the Indonesian nation. "Develop and preserve batik as a creative industry that drives the national economy, once again congratulations National Batik Day 2016," he said.

Efforts are also made to preserve batik SMEs and Markets Department of Cooperatives (DKUP) Depok City in cooperation with the Association of Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs (Ipemi) Depok. DKUP held a batik workshop in Depok Town Square (Detos), Sunday (2/10 /). The event was attended by parents and children, as well as participating in the National Batik Day.

Chairman Ipemi Depok City, Evy, said that this event aims to introduce the process of batik to the community and the nation's future. "The participants were very enthusiastic, this is an effort to preserve the culture of batik. Not only for parents, but also to the children of the nation's successor generation," he said.

DKUP head of Depok, M Fitriawan, expressed his appreciation to the activity. According to him, with this activity the public can directly come to feel the batik process until results can be used. "I advised the batik craftsmen in Depok, in order to continue to explore the culture or the peculiarities of the municipally owned Starfruit is mainly for batik motifs," said Fitriawan Monday.

Fitriawan hope, the future Depok community can better appreciate the culture of batik that in fact has been recognized by UNESCO. "Even to preserve Depok City Government instructed civil servants to wear batik every Friday," he explains.

Wali Kota Depok Mohammad Idris A Shomad dalam pidatonya tak lupa mengucapkan selamat Hari Batik.
