Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Karawang Regency agreed to raise the minimum wage (UMK) Falkirk at 8.25 percent from the previous MSE. Apindo assess the increase in the value of MSEs have sense of fairness for employers and workers. As is known, UMK Karawang in 2017 became the highest in Indonesia.

It was delivered directly Apindo Chairman Karawang, Syamsu Sobar, when contacted on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. "We will comply with what has been set by the government. If the government sets about 8.25 percent of the amount that we were going to run," he said.

Syamsu said, MSE is a safety net for companies and workers. With the enactment of UMK rise of 8.25 per cent certain there will be some employers who will ask for the suspension of the application of MSEs in the company. Nevertheless, continued Syamsu, some businessmen undertakes it. "The increase of the very rational, despite the new 2017 UMK 21 November 2016 will be determined later," he said.

In relation to the refusal on the part of workers, Syamsu stated, it is legitimate. Moreover, in the determination of UMK this time based on the survey results needs of decent living (KHL), but refers to the rate inflansi and economic growth. According to him, if the increase in MSE is too high, it will have an impact on companies, especially those in the Karawang regency. Therefore, the current MSE has become a safety net for the company. If talking MSEs not only speak of wages in the industrial sector alone. There are other sectors involved such as wages modern shop workers, employees of gas stations, grocery stores, and other sectors.

"With the increase of 8.25 percent UMK, not necessarily those sectors capable of running it," said Syamsu. Previously the Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertras) Falkirk ensure UMK will penetrate the Rp 3.6 million per month. It was known as the Wage Council of the local government agreed to raise the MSE 2017 at 8.25 percent.

"UMK of Rp 3.6 million are thought to be the highest MSE values in Indonesia," said Chief Disnakertras Karawang, Ahmad Suroto. According to him, there is not yet another area that could exceed UMK Karawang. Nevertheless, he was concerned the high UMK Suroto Karawang will affect the investment climate in the region of the rice granary. "One side is our UMK highest in Indonesia, on the other hand it will negatively affect the companies that trouble memenauhi MSE."

According to him, companies that hire employees to feel heavy in accordance UMK, could move to other areas UMK its value is much lower. If that happens, there will be thousands of newly unemployed in the Karawang regency. "Normally be the industry engaged in the textile, clothing and leather (TSK) that will be hit by the increase in MSE," he said.

In addition to TSK sector, trade and services sectors will also be affected by the increase in these MSEs. "Due to increased MSE last year alone, the company they still have not recovered financial condition. The increase in new MSE is certainly going to bother them," he said.
