Employers who are members of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) revealed the presence of contraband loss of textiles and textile products (TPT) reached Rp 30 trillion in 2015. In fact, the value of the loss of the presence of smuggled goods increased from year to year.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of API Benny Sutrisno said the presence of contraband goods harmful for suppressing the domestic industry.

"It feels that from year to year, when making the calculation is still a hypothesis has been rising numbers of smuggled it," he said during a press conference at the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Committee member of the National Economic and Industry (KEIN) said, these losses reached Rp 30 trillion by taking into account several components such as consumption, production, as well as the amount of exports and imports.

"So the calculation of consumption of clothing per capita, summed. Then textiles produced starting from upstream to downstream. Plus textiles imported minus textiles exported will see the number of the no man's land. The unclaimed certainly unrecorded, infiltrating definitely not recorded," said he.

He said, the rest of the tonnage which is not recorded if multiplied by the average price it will produce a number of Rp 30 trillion.

"If rated digit tonnage multiplied by the average price per kilogram ketemunya Rp 30 trillion a year," he said.

Kerugian Indonesia Akibat Tekstil Selundupan Mencapai Rp 30 T/tahun

"Kalau dinilai angka tonase dikalikan harga rata-rata per kilogram ketemunya setahun Rp 30 triliun," tandas dia.
