The decline in gas prices is believed to reduce imports of textile and textile products (TPT). Said the Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat. "If the price is cheaper, imports can be much more down. Can be up to 20 percent decline," said Ade in Jakarta.Ade said that gas for the textile industry used as raw materials and energy,

which contributes nearly 22 percent of all production costs. According to Ade, the textile industry requires the price of gas up to 6 dollars per million British Thermal Units (MMBTU) to be competitive, where the current price reached 9.75 to 12 US dollars per MMBTU.

"Ya do not need to be like Singapore 4 US dollars per MMBTU, at least, like Vietnam that cost six dollars per MMBTU," said Ade.

Ade added, imports of textile products that are still considered high as a result of the domestic industry is not competitive. Known, the textile industry being the industry proposed to obtain a decrease in gas prices to the cost of production. However, it is still the subject of intense because of all the imports were still substantial.

API Minta Harga Gas 6 Dollar AS per MMBTU

Penurunan harga gas diyakini mampu menekan impor industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT). Demikian disampaikan Ketua Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudrajat.
