In addition, Jokowi also asked for policies to facilitate the procedures of importation of raw materials export-oriented production.

 

"Make the processes of raw material importation of textile products to be more simple and not complicate business activities in this field," said Jokowi,.

It is known, from January to October 2016, the textile industry fell 4.3 percent over the same period 2015.

 

In fact, a serious effort to raise the back of the textile industry in the global market, Jokowi asked that no negotiations with the so export tariffs on textile products can be reduced to a minimum or free.

 

"We are still inferior to Vietnam in the European market and the United States because we are still charged a rate of 5-20 percent, while Vietnam 0 percent," he explained.

 

According to him, these measures will be taken so that the textile products industry in Indonesia could dominate the domestic market, but it is also able to compete in world markets.

 

Textiles and textile products is a labor-intensive industry that is able to absorb a lot of human resources.

 

Langkah Presden  Meningkatkan Industri Tekstil

 

Melihat laporan industri tekstil yang turun dari periode sebelumnya, Presiden Joko Widodo meminta kementerian terkait untuk segera mengambil langkah untuk menaikan kembali industri tersebut, salah satunya adalah upaya menggratiskan tarif ekspor produk tekstil.

 

Kementerian diminta untuk membuat kebijakan yang mendukung produk tekstil dalam negeri sehingga lebih kompetitif. Seperti kebijakan penurunan harga gas untuk keperluan industri ini harus segera diimplementasikan, pasalnya harga gas memiliki pengaruh yang signifikam dalam industri produk tekstil.

 

Selain itu, Jokowi juga minta kebijakan untuk mempermudah prosedur importasi bahan baku produksi yang berorientasi ekspor. 

"Buat proses-proses importasi bahan baku produk tekstil menjadi lebih sederhana dan juga tidak mempersulit kegiatan dunia usaha di bidang ini," ujar Jokowi, .

Diketahui, sejak Januari hingga Oktober 2016, industri tekstil turun 4,3 persen dibanding periode yang sama ditahun 2015.

 

Bahkan, upaya serius untuk menaikan kembali industri tekstil di pasar global, Jokowi meminta agar ada negosiasi dengan sehingga tarif ekspor produk tekstil bisa ditekan seminim mungkin ataupun digratiskan.

 

"Kita masih kalah dengan Vietnam di pasar Eropa dan Amerika Serikat karena kita masih dikenakan tarif 5-20 persen, sedangkan Vietnam 0 persen," jelasnya.

 

Menurutnya, langkah tersebut diambil agar industri produk tekstil di Indonesia dapat menguasai pasar domestik, selain itu juga mampu bersaing di pasar dunia. 

 

Industri tekstil dan produk tekstil ini merupakan industri padat karya yang mampu menyerap banyak sumber daya manusia.
