Trade Minister (Minister of Commerce) Enggartiasto Lukita will boost the rate of domestic exports by expanding the market. The Ministry of Commerce (Trade) began to open up new export markets to Africa, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Eurosia, and several Latin American countries. "Iran has also become one of the priorities in countries outside export destination," said Enggartiasto in Jakarta, Friday (9/12). Enggartiasto said, the volume of exports to India will also be maximized. Currently, the Ministry of Trade is preparing agreements with new export destination countries as well as determine how the balance sheet position.

In addition to opening new markets, Enggartiasto claimed, was to boost the products that have low competition, such as furniture. According to him, batik can add high added value, including culinary and palm oil and its derivatives. With the addition of these new export markets, Enggartiasto hope that Indonesia is able to continue to maintain the balance of trade, in particular, did not decline in the global economy has not been positive.

Elected President of the United States (US) Donald Trump becomes its own records for Indonesia. Chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Sukamdani Hariyadi said, under the leadership of Trump, the US will protect against the entry of imported products. "All imports of American (US) policies will be complicated," he said.

Hariyadi said, ASEAN would be potential areas that need to be worked optimally as export destinations of Indonesia. Therefore, ASEAN's population reached 600 million people, including Indonesia. Besides ASEAN, Africa also recognized Hariyadi, worthy of being a new export destination of Indonesia. However, according to him, will be a lot of obstacles to opening up new markets in Africa.

So far, the textiles into the main product exported Indonesia. Going forward, Hariyadi hope no product diversification, especially those that have added value. "Like the shoes, we have increased even a little bit," he said. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia exports and imports showed an improvement since August 2016. This improvement seen with the increase in the value of exports and imports per month from August to October this year compared to the same period in 2015.

However, the cumulative January to October, the value of trade is still negative growth compared to 2015. The value of exports during January to October this year reached 117.09 billion US dollars, down 8.04 percent from a year ago. Whereas, for imports, cumulatively recorded, which stood at 110.17 billion US dollars, down 7.5 percent. Judging from the export destination, the United States (US), China, and Japan is still the top three countries that absorbed exports from Indonesia.

Deputy of Distribution and Services Statistics Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Sasmito Hadi Wibowo rate, there is optimism that the export performance shows an upward trend could continue until the end of the year. Moreover, based on the annual pattern that occurs, the value of exports is projected to increase at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, on the import side, the trend is similar to the export performance also occurs. Since August this year, the value of imports showed an increase compared to the same period last year.

Trade performance at the end of this year, according to Sasmito, still driven by price improvements palm oil, coal, and rubber. He considered, imports do not need to be pressed significantly over the export performance could offset the increase. Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is ready to assist the government to expand the export market. There are still many countries the potential to serve export destination for Indonesian products.

Pemerintah Perluas Pasar Ekspor

Presiden Terpilih Amerika Serikat (AS) Donald Trump menjadi catatan sendiri untuk Indonesia.
