The Ministry of Industry will limit imports of textiles from abroad to help the development of textile entrepreneurs in the country. According to him, one of the problems of textile entrepreneurs in Indonesia is the number of import quotas in the domestic market, ranging from fabrics to apparel.

"We've done a pretty harsh measures to suppress textile imports. By curbing import figures I'm sure the textile industry sector in begeri could be increased substantially, "said Director General of Chemical Industry, Textile and Miscellaneous (IKTA) Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono told reporters at the Ministry of Industry, on Friday (23/12).

"The issue of import is still an issue textile entrepreneurs. Therefore we look forward if there are any future regulations that would restrict textile imports, "he said.

Earlier, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartanto said, the industrial sector will be highest growth next year is the basic metal industry.

This year the industrial metal cantilever automotive production, manufacturing, and infrastructure is only capable of accelerating from 1.5 to 1.8 percent next year, the figure jumped to two-fold.

"Next year could penetrate 3.8 percent to 4.0 percent. Due to improved consumer purchasing power and government infrastructure projects, "said Airlangga in his office.

The second industrial sector so excellent next year according to the government's analysis is the textile and apparel industry.

Pemerintah Siap Batasi Impor
