Decisions United States (US) out of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) received positive feedback from the Indonesian textile businessman. Indonesian Textile Association (API) rate, the US release of the TPP will open greater opportunities textile exports to Indonesia.

Ade Sudrajat, Chairman of API said, if the United States out of the TPP, the textile producing countries that have joined the TPP could no longer get duty relief to the United States. As a result, the country will compete in parallel with Indonesia to enter the US market.

So far, the countries that joined the TPP get duty relief textiles to the United States to zero percent. Meanwhile, Indonesia, which is not incorporated in the TPP must pay import duty of 10%. If the US out of the TPP, tekstilIndonesia exports to the US will rise 9% to US $ 4.8 billion, said Ade.

As an illustration, Indonesian textile exports to the United States in 2016 is estimated at US $ 4.4 billion or 36% of total textile exports. As for the overall textile exports in 2016 reached US $ 12.3 billion. This year we are targeting the contribution of exports to the US rose to 39%, said Ade.

The positive response to US plans out of TPP also come from textile manufacturer PT Asia Pacific Fibers Tbk. The exit of the US from the TPP will open up greater opportunities for us in the US market, said Prama Yudha Amdan, Executive Assistant President Director of Asia Pacific Fibers.

Therefore, last year, nearly 15% of Asia Pacific Fibers textile exports to fill the US market, although exports to Asia Pacific countries, Uncle Sam is not directly.

Despite their exports likely to rise to the US, but Yudha can not estimate how many of their export growth target in the land of Uncle Sam. For the amount of value we do not know, but we are optimistic that if the US exports climbed out of the TPP, bright Yudha.

The same opinion was also delivered by Anas Bahfen, Director of PT Apac Citra Tbk Centertex (MYTX) and Iswar Deni Corporate Secretary of PT Pan Brothers Tbk. Our opportunity is great, because all countries have the same opportunity later entry into the US textile market, said Iswar sure

Jika AS keluar dari TPP, ekspor tekstilIndonesia ke AS akan naik 9% menjadi US$ 4,8 miliar, kata Ade.

Sebagai gambaran, ekspor tekstil Indonesia ke AS tahun 2016 diperkirakan US$ 4,4 miliar atau 36% dari total ekspor tekstil. Adapun ekspor tekstil keseluruhan tahun 2016 mencapai US$ 12,3 miliar.
