PT South Pacific Viscose representatives had a meeting with the ministry of Industry is represented by Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono Director General of Chemical, Textile and Miscellaneous of the Ministry of Industry, in the office of the Ministry of Industry today (03/08).

Austria-based company is planning to increase its investment in Indonesia in the field of textiles.

"There is a possibility to invest in the field of staple fiber. Expansion is now 300 tons and want to create a new plant. So it is likely to produce 600 tons of fiber," said Achmad.

But PT Viscose is likely to open three plants in two places, in West Java and Central Java.

"The plan there are two factories in West Java and one in central Java," said Achmad again.

Applications of staple fiber products are for garments, textiles, shirts and high quality tissue grade. So far, Indonesia only rely on imports to use such products due to technological limitations that are owned by the Indonesian industry.

"Three more months to decide whether to cooperate and invest in Indonesia or not. Hopefully they invest here because it will be able to strengthen our industrial structure that had become ordinary high grade quality," he said.
