Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat said the industry worried minimal supply of salt, especially for textile dyeing business. Since last February, the salt supply from producers is quite sluggish. "So it takes a consistent supply," he said

According to Ade, the production reduction indicators also felt in the price. Currently the price of salt rose to Rp 750 per kilogram (salt quality one), Rp 550 per kilogram (two quality salt), and Rp 450 per kilogram (salt quality of the three). "It is not too much upside, but quite noticeably. This is an indicator that needs to be watched," said Ade.

Ade said salt needs of the textile industry this year is estimated 200 thousand tons. Soaps and detergents industry requires 30 thousand tons, petrochemical and 2 million tons of paper pulp, pharmaceuticals 3,000 tons, 50 thousand tons of oil drilling, tanneries and 200 thousand tons of chicken feed. "Hopefully a quick no precautions scarcity of salt. Do not wait for prices to soar," he said.

Director of the Small and Medium Industries Food, Articles of Wood and Furniture Industry Ministry (Ministry of Industry) Sudarto said the planned import of industrial salt as much as two million tonnes and a consumption of 75 thousand. Imports of salt necessary for the production of salt consumption is reduced. "The initial phase is 75 thousand tons of a total of about 226 thousand tons of which have been agreed this year," he said.

According to him, the salt import policy be agreed upon by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), Ministry of Industry and Trade Ministry. Realization of import will be done PT Garam as the SOE.

Director of PT Garam Achmad Budiono said, is currently waiting for an import permit from the Ministry of trafficking in (Trade) amounted to 75 thousand tons, with a budget of US $ 3 million. "Hopefully next week will rise. We are waiting," he said

Industri Tekstil Khawatir Pasokan Garam Kurang

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudrajat mengatakan, industri khawatir pasokan garam minim, khususnya untuk usaha pencelupan tekstil. Sejak Februari lalu, suplai garam dari produsen cukup seret. "Jadi dibutuhkan pasokan konsisten," katanya

Jangan sampai tunggu harga melambung," kata dia.

"InsyaAllah minggu depan terbit. Kami sedang menunggu," kata dia
