The perpetrators of the textile industry complain about the high cost of electricity. In fact, the cost of industrial production is very dependent on electricity tariffs."Energy prices for us are very important," said PT Asia Pacific Fibers Manager Suresh Kabra, Thursday (4/5).

Suresh said the electricity cost component touched 55% of the total production cost. The company, he said, every hour consumes electricity as much as 10 megawatts. All of the electricity supply is obtained from PLN. "Just imagine, 100% of our electricity supply from PLN. The price is very high and the quality is often disturbed. "

For him, energy prices are becoming very important in textile production activities. The use of electricity is spread out for the operational needs of machines, compressors, and lighting. Within 1 month, one factory can cost electricity up to Rp30 billion. "So for us, the efficient use of energy becomes necessary to reduce costs."

He stated that he has tried to streamline the utilization system without adding new investment costs. The result, the savings made can reduce electricity costs by 1%. "That's a good value to slightly improve profitability without the high cost."

Suresh said the company is interested in using solar panels. Provided that the government does not implement a complicated regulation.

PT TUV SUD Indonesia's testing, certification, and training service providers see industries, including textiles and footwear that are highly capital intensive and consume enormous amounts of energy. Quoted the business.

Deputy General Manager of PT TUV SUD Indonesia Arief Ariyana revealed that in general the industry spends more than 50% of production cost for electricity bills

Tarif Listrik Jadi Biaya Tertinggi Bagi Industri Tekstil

Perseroan, kata dia, setiap jamnya mengkonsumsi listrik sebanyak 10 megawatt.
