The competitiveness of domestic Textile and Textile (TPT) industry is increasingly depressed in the second quarter of this year. The government should immediately stop this weakening trend by involving all relevant stakeholders to formulate a medium-term rescue roadmap and medium-term TPT development.

This roadmap is considered very important so that all business actors can contribute actively in re-healthy sector that is at a critical point. In the past five years, the growth of the Indonesian Textile Industry continues to erode as large populated countries such as China and India and other developing countries such as Vietnam and Bangladesh continue to experience growth in this sector.

The development of TPT Indonesia that leads to this stagnation should be seen as a warning to stakeholders to immediately create a joint scheme that contains direction for business certainty.

The basis and durability of Indonesia's TPT industry integration that has proven to be maintained since the 1980s is currently facing the threat of business disintegration.

This trend is indicated by the decline in optimism that market participants respond to sector growth that is not even in line with the growth of domestic consumption, in addition to the lack of significant investment to improve competitiveness.

If this pessimism is left unchecked, the company will suffer an increasing loss and end at permanent closure of the business.

Indonesian Filament and Fiber Producers Association (APSyFI) sees that the Indonesian TPT roadmap should contain clear planning and targets.

Such plans and targets should be accompanied by industry commitments and supported by attractive incentives from the government.
