Textile Manufacturers Support Environmentally Friendly Industry PDF Print E-mail

The textile industry supports the government in realizing green industry. Although not all manufacturers use alternative energy, businessmen continue to improve themselves to get the green and blue Proper from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Secretary General of Indonesian Filament and Fiber Films Association (APSyFI) Redma Gita Wiraswasta said in global regulation, the industry is now required to be more environmentally friendly. "This is what we do well for business sustainability. In terms of its buyers are currently demanding us to be more environmentally friendly, "said Redma, last week.

Environmentally friendly industries fall into several categories. First, the industry does not pollute the environment of water, air, and soil. Second, the raw material can be recycled, re-use, re-degradable. Third, the products used in production to finished products must be environmentally friendly. In addition, efficiency and effectiveness factor in energy use is also an important factor.

Redma said one of the standards for environmentally friendly products can be seen from the receipt of goods when exporting abroad. In the United States and Europe the product is researched first. If detected contain hazardous chemicals, buyers will reject them.

"The problem sometimes there are some home industries such as workshops and batik craftsmen who throw the waste carelessly," said Redma.

The government is optimistic that the textile sector will grow by 7%. Previously, the Indonesian Textile Association said the performance of textile industry this year will be relatively stagnant because there has been no significant change in terms of policy and investment since last year.

Director of Textile, Leather, Footwear, and Multifarious Industries Ministry of Industry, Muhdori, said the government is trying to keep moving the industry, one of them by encouraging exports. The government, for example, negotiates to reduce import duties for export products to a number of countries, including the United States.

"The government is currently negotiating with the United States on a 10% tax imposed on exported goods from Indonesia. The hope in July this year can be seen the results, "said Muhdori.

In addition, the government is also pressing imports of textiles and textile products, including by tightening the rules of entry of goods from abroad since the beginning of this year. The results can be seen from the decline in imports of fabric as a garment raw material that fell by 33% in the period I / 2017 quarter. Decrease in fabric import is expected to increase the utilization of the national fabric factory.

Pabrikan Tekstil Dukung Industri Ramah Lingkungan

Pemerintah optimistis sektor tekstil tumbuh hingga 7%.
