The policy of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade related to the importation of domestic workforce is appropriate. However, it should be balanced with the main knowledge about the variety of textile products.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat through his press release. According to him, lest the import ban law on which the entrepreneurs are running with overseas buyers.

"The policy is already in the way and we think it is already in its path, a policy that is already in the way and according to us already in the track, the kind of textile product itself," said Ade.

Currently, Ade said, demand for more textiles from abroad. From within the country, even before Lebaran, there has been no surge in demand. Not surprisingly, in terms of export performance, also remained positive up 2 percent in January-February 2017 which took place in the previous year (year on year).

In the first mepet this year if exports minus imports still surplus USD1, 29 billion. "The government must make the right policy in line with the interest of supporting the domestic industry, we support policies that are more attractive to labor, counterproductive, or excel to forced labor," said Ade.

Increased demand for exports from abroad because of the quality of Indonesian textile industry products can already compete with similar products from other countries. Add countries in the Asean region.

Domestic support such as reduced loading time (dwell time) in the port, many garment operators from vocational education, to incentives given by the Ministry of Finance, triggered improved export performance of the textile industry. Repair loading and unloading.

On the other hand, America's exit from the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement could also be an additional driver for the export performance of Indonesian textile products to America to increase. The reason, Indonesian products will directly have the same competitiveness with similar products from Vietnam and other countries.

"Of course we hope that our export performance to America is more positive," said Ade.

Ade is optimistic that the performance of textile sector this year will continue to grow positively. He hopes that the industry's positive outcomes in the first quarter, should also be assisted by the government by presenting various policies that truly protect and encourage the domestic textile industry to gain stronger competitiveness and become a market leader.

Pemerintah Batasi Impor Tekstil, Ini Respon Asosiasi Tekstil
