Ministry of Industry: Lack of National TPT Industry Technology PDF Print E-mail

Director General of Chemical, Textile and Multifarious Industries (IKTA) of the Ministry of Industry, Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono, gave an appreciation to the Indonesian Textile Association (API).

"I hope that this discussion can produce images for the progress of the national textile industry," said Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono during the opening ceremony of Focus Group Discusion of TPT Industry at Bidakara Hotel.

According to Sigit, with the growth of population and the increasing demand for textile non-clothing, national textile industry is still increasing.

Based on Kemneprin's records, by 2016 TPT industry investment reached Rp7.54 trillion, with foreign exchange earnings of USD 11.87 billion.

Sigit realized at this time the national textile industry condition is facing so many obstacles, ranging from gas prices that have not moved down, the flood of imported products, until the problem of restructuring that is still not evenly distributed.

"We have all delivered it to the Minister through the deregulation packages, and until now we are still fighting for it all, because it concerns the competitiveness of national textile industry," he explained.

Responding to the flood of imported products, Sigit said, we are coordinating with the Ministry of Commerce. "We can only match the data alone, can not recommend," he added.

For now, Sigit continued, our import control has been effective, and we have cooperated with the Ministry of Finance and Customs for the control of this import, proven until the first quarter of 2017 TPT imports decreased by 33 percent from last year.

Sigit admitted, until now the national textile industry technology is still very lagging from other countries. We will push again later through industrial restructuring, especially in coloring so that samples can be quickly processed.

"Nowadays there are some companies that use digital printing, so speed up the sample process itself.I hope the future will be many companies that use digital printing to speed up the sample process," lid Sigit.

Kemenperin : Kurangnya Teknologi Industri TPT Nasional
