The Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) of Central Java, assesses that vulnerable export markets fall to include the US despite being the largest market share. To increase the export value of Central Java, Apindo argues, entrepreneurs must seek new markets other than those already exist.

"As Middle East and Africa, there is still potential for export of Central Java, but the cost of export is more expensive because it is further," said Chairman of Apindo Jateng, Frans Kongi.

In addition, existing markets must still be maintained. Export entrepreneurs are required to maintain the quality of products in order to compete with products from other countries.

"The government should also provide facilities such as taxes, so that the cost is not higher, so the price of products from Central Java is also cheaper," he explained.

Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Central Java recorded the overall export value of Central Java in May 2017 reached 547.33 million US dollars (US) or rose 20.84 percent compared to April 2017 exports recorded 452.93 million US dollars.

During January-May 2017, three commodities had the highest export value. All three are textile and textile goods, wood and wooden goods, and various products of factory. The third market share of 40.73 percent, 16.87 percent and 11.61 percent respectively.

"Do not stick to the three commodities alone, the entrepreneurs must see the huge potential that can be exported, so that the economy in Central Java can increase," said Central Java BPS Head, Margo Yuwono.

Ketua Apindo Jateng Minta Pengusaha Cari Pasar Ekspor Baru

Selama Januari-Mei 2017, tiga komoditas memiliki nilai ekspor tertinggi.
