Afghanistan is working to improve trade and investment relations with Indonesia. "There are several commodities that they are interested to discuss, such as textile, pharmaceutical, building construction and food," said Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto after receiving the visit of Ambassador of Afghanistan to Indonesia Roya Rahmani at the Ministry of Industry Office,

To follow up the cooperation opportunity, Minister of Industry stated that the Indonesian delegation needs to come to Afghanistan to conduct bilateral business dialogue.

"They have also submitted an invitation to the government and Indonesian businessmen can come to Kabul," he said.

Historically, Afghanistan has a special affinity with Indonesia because it is one of the countries that recognizes the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

Both countries have established good relationships for 62 years and played an active role in the success of the Asian-African Conference in 1955.

Menperin hope, strengthening bilateral relationship will bring significant influence to the economic growth of each country.

Menperin also give appreciation to the businessmanAFganistan who have invested in Indonesia with a value reached 12.3 million US dollars in 2016.

The investment, dominantly distributed in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry sector, while the previous year more in the textile industry.

Referring to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the value of Afghan investment in Indonesia in the period January 1, 2010 to June 30, 2016 is ranked 34 th list of foreign investors in Indonesia.

The value of Afghan investment is greater than the value of investment in New Zealand, Norway and Saudi Arabia.
