Indonesia's textile and textile products (TPT) products are still competing with products from Vietnam and Bangladesh. This is evident from the export value of Indonesian textile products in 2016 which only reached 11.9 billion US dollars, while Vietnam reached 30 billion US dollars.

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat, recently to the media crew explained, there are at least some things that hinder the development of the national textile industry. Firstly, the high cost of electricity. Energy in Indonesia is more expensive than Vietnam and Bangladesh competitors.

The second is the barrier of logistics costs and infrastructure facilities that have not fully supported the development of the textile industry. "Every year, the population increases, the vehicle increases and the road does not increase, so the logistics products are decreasing, there are limitations in the transportation modes, because it must be full container load, can not less than container load (LCL)," said Ade.

Ade added, other problems are related to the bureaucratic system and licensing that has not taken sides to the industrial sector. Then, the issue of imposition of import duties on Indonesian textile products in the United States (US) and the European Union. "(Imports) to the EU and the US are subject to 10 percent-17 percent of import duties, Vietnam and Bangladesh are zero percent, we are considered a developed country because Indonesia is entering the G20 so it is considered a developed country," he said.

Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) noted, during the year 2016 TPT investment value reached Rp 7.54 trillion. This industry is able to generate foreign exchange of 11.87 billion US dollars and is able to absorb as much as 17.03 percent of the total labor of the manufacturing industry

Mahalnya Tarif Listrik-Biaya Logistik Tinggi Kendala Ekspor Tekstil Indonesia

AS, sedangkan Vietnam mencapai 30 miliar dolar AS.

Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) mencatat, sepanjang tahun 2016 nilai investasi TPT mencapai Rp 7,54 triliun.
