Garment is one of Indonesia's mainstay industries. The high availability of employment makes the garment industry in Indonesia sufficiently developed for decades.

One of the largest growing national companies in this area is PT Pan Brothers Tbk (PBRX). As if this industry never dies, Pan Brothers continues to rake in profits to trillions of rupiah each year.

Vice President Pan Brothers Anne Patricia Sutanto believes the garment industry will never die anytime. Because human beings as polite living beings will always need clothes. Not only that, the growing world economy makes garments always bigger.

"The need for apparel is also always increasing with the GDP of each country that always goes up and we always need a decent outfit automatically the prospects in my eyes will continue to grow So I strongly believe, because whatever happens either the technology develops to any point we must Need clothes, "he said when talking, Monday (10/7).

But even though the garment industry's realm is so vast, competition maps are always there in the business world. Anne assess all garment industry players are always challenged to create products with increasing quality but at a low price. Therefore, efficiency becomes the key to success in this business realm.

If looking at the industry, according to Anne the most important key for garment companies is labor. Because the garment industry is in dire need of a lot of manpower.

"It happens to be that our people are from the beginning suitable for the apparel industry especially in Java, because in Java there is a human revolution, from hunting to agriculture, to new service industries, we see strong in garment. Suitable for producing in a manufacturing environment, "he added.

Indonesia, said Anne, is very lucky to have such a large population. In addition, although the education of Indonesian people is still not high but still better than regional countries.

In terms of minimum wage, Indonesia is not exactly the cheapest. There are still lower regional countries like Cambodia and Myanmar, but that is because their education level is also lower.

"Now Indonesia is still not interested because of the rules, but more because the garment company in Indonesia is in the right position because our worker matches the manufacturing industry," he added.

However, the glory of Indonesia's garment industry is now being disturbed by the emergence of other potential countries, such as Vietnam. According to Anne the revival of Vietnam's garment industry because of the support from his government is large, especially from the side of employee incentives for his company.

"By law they are more pro-garment from the labor incentive side, the rules in Indonesia are many and the garment has not been realized the real rules." It is true that in majority the government can say there is a regulation, but not real to the garment industry, "he explained.

Anne's incentive labor in the sense of government provides incentives for export. For example incentives from the side of corporate income tax.

"In terms of electricity, there is a subsidy, but garment does not require much electricity, but if the textile industry is possible but the garment needs a lot of electricity, the rules of PPH regulation for export garment incentives are not yet real," he said.

Not only that, Vietnam is superior to Indonesia because its government has established free trade cooperation with many countries in the world. This benefits Vietnamese garment makers because they have lower loads on exports than their competitors.

In addition the Vietnamese government also ensures the entire industry chain of the game is in the country. Such as textile industry and yarn. Of course all that makes Vietnam's garment industry has a greater stock when competing with its competitors in the international arena.
