The Indonesian Textile Association (API) believes that the news about the stopping of spinning yarn production by some factories is limited to rumors.

Although there is a decrease in yarn production, API Chairman Ade Sudrajat said there is no yarn spinning mill that closes post Lebaran. Ade Judging, the emergence of the issue of the yarn factory cover due to the Lebaran holidays extended the factories.

"They usually have a maximum of five days off this year plus 20 days so it makes sense to show rumors about closing the yarn factory," Ade said in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/19/2017).

However, he does not dismiss today many textile companies are cutting yarn production. PT Argo Pantes Tbk for example, cut yarn production in 2016 and then to 8,788 tons. In fact, in the previous year the issuer with the ARGO stock code can produce 9,042 tons.

Ade saw, the decline in yarn production is caused by the declining purchasing power. "The market in Indonesia is currently sluggish, not only in the textile industry but also in retail," said Ade.

API: Munculnya Isu Tutupnya Pabrik Benang Akibat Libur Lebaran Yang Diperpanjang
