The need for ready-to-use labor college graduates in the textile field is very high. However, many universities have difficulty getting students so they have to close the in its major.

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) Ade Sudrajat Usman met at PT Sritex factory, Sukoharjo, Sunday (06/08/201) said Indonesia has great potential in the textile industry since 1980s. At that time there were other countries in Southeast Asia which also appeared as textile countries namely Thailand and Malaysia.

In its development, said Ade Thailand and Malaysia continue to bolt from light industry to medium. While Indonesia's position remained stagnant in light industry position. This happens one of them because Indonesia is a country with a large population.

Ade explained that the condition impacts on the high need for clothing for the people. While Thailand and Malaysia their population  smaller and the industry can grow faster. Around the year 2000 appeared two new countries in the textile industry namely Bangladesh and Vietnam.

"Both countries become Indonesia's competitors in producing textile products.

Indonesia has great potential in the field of textiles. It takes hard work of all parties. Including universities to keep open textile majors and produce ready-made graduates to work and develop the textile industry, "said Ades Sudrajat while attending the event IKATEKS Reunion 1967 - 2002 UPNVJ.

Ade adds the role of universities as a foundation of human resource development (HR) as a reliable workforce in the field of textiles. In Indonesia alone now only a few universities that have a major of textile. Even then the number of students is very small. The amount is not proportional to the high demand of the textile industry.

Kebutuhan Tenaga Kerja Industri Tekstil Sangat Tinggi

Kebutuhan tenaga kerja siap pakai lulusan perguruan tinggi dibidang tekstil sangat tinggi. Namun, banyak perguruan tinggi mengalami kesulitan mendapatkan mahasiswa sehingga harus menutup jurusantersebut.

Ketua Umum Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Ade Sudrajat Usman ditemui di pabrik PT Sritex, Sukoharjo, Minggu (06/08/201) mengatakan, Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dibidang industri tekstil sejak 1980an.

"Kedua negara menjadi pesaing Indonesia dalam menghasilkan produk tekstil.

Indonesia punya potensi besar dibidang tekstil. Dibutuhkan kerja keras semua pihak.
