Utilization of Bitung-Davao Route Targets Increased Exports to the Philippines PDF Print E-mail

The Bitung-Davao / General Santos connectivity route of Bitung-Davao / General Santos which was opened by President Joko Widodo and President Duterte on April 30, 2017, made the Ministry of Commerce intensively open up opportunities for export to the Philippine market. Ministry of Trade through the Directorate General of National Export Development (PEN) held a "Dissemination Forum Development of Philippine Market Philippines by Utilizing BitungDavao / GeneralSantos Sea Connectivity" in Bogor

 

"The Ministry of Trade also encourages the utilization of Roro Bitung-Davao to support the increase of national exports to the Philippines as one of the potential export markets in ASEAN," said Director General PEN.

 

The Ministry of Trade targets a 2017 increase in exports to the Philippines by 11.22% to USD 5.8 billion from the previous USD5.26 billion in 2016. RuteBitung-Davaodiharapkandapat be a shorter alternative route to increase connectivity and international trade between Indonesia and the Philippines .

 

"The Bitung-Davao route will provide benefits in enhancing the local economy including encouraging global apsok chain, stimulating local infrastructure development, improving the tourism sector, establishing direct air connections, and improving the flow

According to Arlinda, if the Davao-General Santos-Bitung route can go well, then Indonesia will have an added advantage in terms of reduced sailing distance from Eastern Indonesia, as well as reduced delivery times.

 

Indonesia is a very important trading partner for the island of Mindanao because Indonesia is included in the top five countries of origin of import / largest supplier, which is in the order of 4. During 2011-2015, the import of Mindanao Island from Indonesia increased by an average of 10.8% per year. Imports of Mindanao Island from Indonesia in 2015 reached USD 286.0 million or increased significantly to 79.7% compared to 2014.

 

It has a huge potential for products such as seaweed, cooking oil, wheat flour, as well as potential products such as corn, copra, coffee, Portland cement, frozen yellowfin tuna, animal or vegetable fats and oils, building materials, skipjack, Console for voltages exceeding 1,000 volts, and ammonium sulfate fertilizer.

 

The speakers at the forum were Consul General of RI-Davao City, Director of Export Development Cooperation, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee, Kadin of North Sulawesi Province, Director of Export and Import Facilitation, and Representative of IV IV. The participants in this forum are business actors / exporters with products including soaps, textiles, furniture, processed foods and beverages, chemicals, coal, charcoal, and construction. In addition, representatives from associations, freight forwarders and other related agencies are also present.

 

 

Pemanfaatan Rute Bitung-Davao Picu Peningkatan Ekspor ke Filipina

 

 

Rute konektivitas laut Bitung-Davao/General Santos yang dibuka Presiden Joko Widodo dan Presiden Duterte pada 30 April 2017, membuat Kementerian Perdagangan semakin intensif membuka peluang peningkatan ekspor ke pasar Filipina. Kemendag melalui Direktorat Jenderal Pengembangan Ekspor Nasional (PEN) menggelar “Forum Diseminasi Pengembangan Ekspor ke Pasar Filipina dengan Memanfaatkan Konektivitas Laut BitungDavao/GeneralSantos” di Bogor, pada Selasa (15/8).

 

“Kemendag turut mendorong pemanfaatan Roro Bitung-Davao untuk mendukung peningkatan ekspor nasional ke Filipina sebagai salah satu pasar ekspor potensial di ASEAN,” kata Direktur Jenderal PEN .

 

Kemendag menargetkan peningkatan ekspor 2017 ke Filipina sebesar 11,22% menjadi USD 5,8 miliar dari sebelumnya sebesar USD5,26 miliar pada 2016. Rute Bitung-Davao diharapkan dapat menjadi rute alternatif yang lebih singkat untuk meningkatkan konektivitas dan perdagangan internasional antara Indonesia dengan Filipina.

 

“Rute Bitung-Davao ini akan memberikan manfaat dalam peningkatkan perekonomian lokal termasuk mendorong rantai apsok global, merangsang pembangunan infrastruktur daerah, meningkatkan sektor pariwisata, membentuk hubungan udara langsung, dan meningkatkan arus

masuk investasi,” lanjut Arlinda.

 

Menurut Arlinda, bila rute Davao-General Santos-Bitung dapat berjalan dengan baik, maka Indonesia akan mempunyai keuntungan tambahan dalam hal pengurangan jarak berlayar dari Indonesia Timur, serta mengurangi waktu pengiriman.

 

Indonesia adalah mitra dagang sangat penting bagi Pulau Mindanao karena Indonesia masuk dalam lima besar negara asal impor/pemasok terbesar, yaitu pada urutan ke-4. Selama 2011-2015, impor Pulau Mindanao dari Indonesia meningkat rata-rata per tahun sebesar 10,8%. Impor Pulau Mindanao dari Indonesia pada 2015 mencapai USD 286,0 juta atau meningkat signifikanmencapai 79,7% dibandingkan pada 2014.

 

Kita punya  potensi yang cukup besar untuk produkseperti rumput laut, minyak goreng, tepung terigu, di samping produk potensial seperti bulir jagung, kopra, kopi, semen Portland, tuna yellowfin beku, lemak dan minyak hewani atau nabati, bahanbangunan, ikan cakalang, papan, konsol untuk voltase melebihi 1.000 volt, dan pupuk ammonium sulfat.

 

Para narasumber pada forum tersebut yaitu Konjen RI-Davao City, Direktur Kerja sama Pengembangan Ekspor, Kadin Indonesia komite Filipina, Kadin Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, perwakilan Direktur Fasilitasi Ekspor dan Impor, dan perwakilan Pelindo IV. Adapun peserta pada forum ini adalah pelaku usaha/eksportir dengan produk antara lain sabun,tekstil, furnitur, makanan dan minuman olahan, bahan kimia, batu bara, arang, dan konstruksi. Selain itu hadir pula perwakilan dari asosiasi, perusahaan jasa pengiriman, dan instansi terkait lainnya.
