After the import of bulk import by SATGAS Risk Import Control, demand for local cloth in the domestic market began to increase. Secretary General of Filament Indonesia Fiber and Filament Producers Association (APSyFI), Redma Gita Wirawasta stated that its members confirmed the increase in filament yarn sales volume by 30% in the last two weeks.

Redma explained that the increased volume of filament yarn sales as a result of the increasing demand for fabric in domestic post-government removal of bulk import practices. "We are very grateful for the seriousness of the government in eliminating the practice of bulk importation, work SATGAS tokcer, directly positive impact, a buzz we've been waiting for more than 10 years" he explained.

Redma said that the increase in sales typically occurs in filament yarns for woven fabrics followed later for knit fabrics. "This includes supply for Small and Medium Industry (IKM), which will be used for IKM garment (convection) as well" he explained. "The last two weeks of cloth manufacturers including IKM fabric that previously turned off, now start production again" he added.

The first week after the formation of SATGAS which stopped the practice of bulk imports, there was a shortage of fabric supply up to several centers of IKM that had difficulty in raw materials. But then the market began looking for sources from within the country until now local products have started to take over.

"We are coordinating with weaving and knitting manufacturers who are our member consumers to fill the fill material center that is being prepared by Ditjend IKM Kemenperin" he explained. "So, the future of raw materials for IKM is more secure, and the important thing comes from local producers, not from imported raw materials" he said.

APSyFI hopes that the government consistently continues to prevent the practice of importing bulk so that the national textile and textile industry (TPT) gets market guarantee in the domestic market so that it can be healthy again. "Do not let the loopholes that can be the entrance of illegal imports, because next SATGAS must be imported seepage imported goods from Bonded Zone as much as the import of wholesale and distort the domestic market" he asserted

APSyFI data from the calculation of production, distribution and consumption sourced from Bank Indonesia (BI) and Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) shows that every year there is a gap between sales and consumption. "In 2016, local product sales are 1.4 million tons, imports are 151 thousand tons while consumption is 1.86 million tons, its gap is 310 thousand tons, this is what we expect as illegal imported products, mostly entering in bulk import mode, seepage from Bonded Zone and escape HS "he concluded.

Impor Borongan Ditertibkan, Penjualan Benang Filament Naik
