Minister of Industry Requests Creative Textile Industry Do not Just Be a Sewer PDF Print E-mail

The Minister of Industry of Airlangga Hartarto encouraged the textile and textile products industry to innovate, so that the stigma is only so that the tailor does not continue to stick.

 

"Through the branding efforts, the company can be separated from the negative stigma of the apparel industry in Indonesia which is only a 'tailor' and more independent in sourcing raw materials and accessories," Airlangga said in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (27 / / 2017).

 

Airlangga said that during his working visit at PT Delami Garment Industries, Bandung, West Java.

 

The former member of the House of Representatives appreciated the company's commitment to market most of its products for domestic interest and to absorb large numbers of workers.

 

In this case, the Ministry of Industry together with relevant stakeholders is determined to continue improving the performance of the national textile industry.

 

"One of them is that we encourage the upgrading of domestic upstream textile industry as a supplier of raw materials of fiber, fabric and yarn because of the increasing use of raw materials from industries that have freedom in determining the source of raw materials," said Menperin.

 

General Manager of PT Delami Garment Industries Fenty Tiono revealed, the company stood since 1979 with started to have 15 sewing machines and 30 operators to produce WOODS brand trousers. In 1987, the first export to the United States and Japan.

 

"In 1990, the bigger exports were Eddie Bauer, Nike, M & S, and The Northface brands.The first domestic brand, The Executive and now our brands serve various segments," he explained.

 

 

Menperin Minta Pelaku Industri Tekstil Kreatif, Jangan Hanya Jadi Tukang Jahit

 

 

Menteri Perindustrian Airlangga Hartarto mendorong industri tekstil dan produk tekstil berinovasi, sehingga stigma hanya jadi tukang jahit tidak terus melekat.

"Melalui upaya branding yang dilakukan, perusahaan dapat lepas dari stigma negatif industri pakaian jadi di Indonesia yang hanya menjadi 'tukang jahit' serta lebih mandiri dalam melakukan sourcing bahan baku maupun aksesorisnya," kata Airlangga dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Jakarta, Rabu (27/9/2017).

 

Airlangga menyampaikan hal itu ketika melakukan kunjungan kerja di PT Delami Garment Industries, Bandung, Jawa Barat.

 

Mantan Anggota DPR RI itu mengapresiasi komitmen perusahaan yang memasarkan sebagian besar hasil produksinya untuk kepentingan dalam negeri serta menyerap tenaga kerja dalam jumlah besar.

 

Dalam hal ini, Kemenperin bersama pemangku kepentingan terkait bertekad untuk terus meningkatkan kinerja industri TPT nasional.

 

"Salah satunya, kami mendorong peningkatan kinerja industri hulu tekstil dalam negeri sebagai penyuplai bahan baku serat, kain maupun benang karena peningkatan penggunaan bahan baku dari industri yang memiliki kebebasan dalam menentukan sumber bahan bakunya," ungkap Menperin.

 

General Manager PT Delami Garment Industries Fenty Tiono mengungkapkan, perusahaan berdiri sejak tahun 1979 dengan mulai memiliki 15 mesin jahit dan 30 operator untuk memproduksi celana panjang merek WOODS. Pada Tahun 1987, ekspor pertama kali ke Amerika Serikat dan Jepang.

 

"Tahun 1990, makin besar ekspornya dengan merek Eddie Bauer, Nike, M&S, dan The Northface. Merek domestik pertama, yaitu The Executive dan saat ini brand-brand kami melayani berbagai segmen," paparnya.
