Shanghai CCPIT delegates measured the potential of the Indonesian manufacturing sector to be explored in cooperation with the home industry of the Bamboo Curtain.

To that end, the Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto conveyed the advantages of the national manufacturing industry to the delegation.

"They report, some industries in China will move, from manufacturing to the service sector. Moreover, their labor cost is already high enough, so they see there is potential of some Chinese industry players to move to Indonesia, "Airlangga said in his statement in Jakarta on Monday.

The delegation plans to hold an import exhibition in Shanghai, China in 2018 and is measuring the ability of the Indonesian manufacturing sector that is potential to be explored in cooperation with the home industry of Bamboo Curtain.

Airlangga explained, Indonesia has set up a special industrial area to accommodate the industry from China. The area is located in Karawang with a land area of about 200 hekatre.

"The area will support several industrial sectors such as automotive, electronics, shoes, textiles, clothing, and petrochemicals," he said.

Airlangga added, China's investment, especially in the automotive sector is growing rapidly.

There are two Chinese vehicle factories that have been operating with an investment of Rp16 trillion and have been able to show good sales results.

"Indonesia can be a potential production and export base, in addition to having a very large domestic market. In fact, the industry value chain already exists, "he said.

Based on the records of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), China's total investment to Indonesia last year ranked second largest with a value of 1.07 billion US dollars. The money flows into the country through 520 projects.

Airlangga has also offered other industrial areas, such as in Tanah Kuning, North Kalimantan. The area with an area of 10 thousand hectares will be used as an aluminum-based industry center.

This internationally-equipped area will also be built of Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) and New Renewable Energy (EBT) source as the main capital for investor pulling.

Tiongkok jajaki kerjasama sektor manufaktur tekstil unggulan Indonesia
