PT Pan Brothers Tbk. preparing US $ 13 million for capital expenditure to increase production capacity at two plants in Tasikmalaya and Sragen.

The distribution of capital expenditure is aimed at developing subsidiary factories, PT Teodore Pan Garmindo Tasikmalaya, in two stages each worth US $ 5 million. Meanwhile, the remaining US $ 3 million is intended to develop the company's garment factory in Sragen.

Vice President Director of Pan Brothers Anne Patricia Sutanto targets the expansion to be completed by the middle of next year.

"The expansion of the two factories each added 15 production lines. The targeted installed capacity is increased by 11 million pieces per year and can absorb 4,000 workers, "he said at the Ministry of Industry on Friday (27/10).

Anne said the company is applying for tax allowance incentives because the plant absorbs thousands of workers. The additional production line will produce synthetic woven and cotton lifestyle raw materials to be processed into garment products.

The addition of capacity is one of the company's strategy to boost sales figures next year. In 2018, Pan Brothers continues to target sales growth at double-digit levels.

According to him, the company's consolidated sales in the third quarter of this year still increased by 8% -10%. "By percentage is more or less the same as last year. Our market is almost all for export, so more or less the market is still okay, "he said.

One of the challenges that is still a retaining productivity of textile manufacturers in Indonesia is the limited supply of fabric. Anne proposed the government to encourage policies that could intensify capacity and facilitate the supply chain of the fabric factory.

"Because of the lack of capacity in Indonesia it is fabric mills, consequently the raw material is still a lot of imports. With import dependent, delivery of goods can be late 2 days-3 days or even up to one week. Whereas the accuracy of workmanship is the key in this business, then the supply of raw materials should not be any obstacles, "he said.

Textile manufacturers expect the government to ensure the exemption of import duties on footwear and garment products on free trade agreement negotiations with the EU.

"If import duty is borne equally with Vietnamese products, our products are highly competitive to enter Europe," he said.

Previously, the Central Bureau of Statistics recorded the value of textile and garment exports in the third quarter of this year reached US $ 9.38 billion. That number rose 4.69% when compared with textile exports of the same period last year valued at US $ 8.96 billion.

Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association Ade Sudrajat is optimistic that demand from export markets will continue the positive trend in the next few months. The projection, textile and garment exports could penetrate US $ 12 billion this year.

Ekspansi PT Pan Brother Tbk
