The growth of the textile sector in the second quarter of 2017 reached 3.65 percent. This figure is significantly higher than the previous quarter which was only 0.16 percent. Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association Ade Sudrajat said the growth is due to several factors. First, many factories are relocated to Central Java. It helped increase productivity.

"So production can grow better, investment in this year is also quite big growth upstream." he said when contacted in Jakarta, Monday (7/8).

In addition, the increase in textile factory investment realization contributed to the growth of the textile industry. "Investment growth is quite large, especially those who play in the upstream sector," he said.

Based on data from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the realization of textile industry investment reached Rp 7.47 trillion in the first half of this year. A total of Rp 5.02 trillion in diantarantya is a domestic investment and Rp 2.45 trillion is a foreign investment.

Currently, there are already some textile companies that realize in the semester this year. Call it, Sritex, PAN Brothers and Sateri Group.

"Perhaps not yet recorded in Bandung is a takeover of a company that is small Rp500 billion can be developed to Rp2 trillion can be investors from China. There he specialist only in dyeing finishing plant," he explained.

To that end, the government needs to support the sales performance of domnestic manufacturers by halting the rate of imports. Thus, domestic productivity can increase and the textile industry can continue to be passionate.

"If the government consistently curb imported textile goods from China, we are optimistic that domestic production will increase and textile growth performance could be better," he concluded.

Industri Tekstil Tumbuh
