API West Java Requesting Textile Factory that Have No WWTP Closed PDF Print E-mail

The Indonesian Textile Association (API) Jabar welcomed the findings of dozens of factories that dump waste into the Citarum stream. API asks law enforcement does not hesitate to close the factory that does not have Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)


Chairman API Jabar Ade Sudrajat appreciate the steps of the Citarum Ecosystem Setup Task Force in monitoring the waste processing of factories along the Citarum River. He requested that supervision be consistent.


"First I welcome governments and law enforcement to focus on industrial law, I hope it will be consistent," said Ade


He admitted there are nine factories API Jabar members included in the list of liquid waste disposal findings Survey of Citarum Ecosystem Setup. Although, four factories among them denied disposing of the waste.


"If the dyeing industry (textile) does not have a good IPAL member (API) or not, it should be closed if found guilty later," he said.


He said that the company asks for a factory with IPAL to follow Proper (Corporate Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).


"Got WTP guided is required to follow Proper.This coaching must be done now and should not be anticipated," said Ade.


API Jawa Barat Minta Pabrik Tekstil yang Tidak Punya IPAL Ditutup


Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) Jabar menyambut baik temuan puluhan pabrik yang membuang limbah ke aliran Citarum. API meminta penegak hukum tak segan-segan menutup pabrik yang tak memiliki Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL)


Ketum API Jabar Ade Sudrajat mengapresiasi langkah Satgas Penataan Ekosistem Citarum dalam memonitor pengolahan limbah pabrik-pabrik di sepanjang aliran Citarum. Ia meminta pengawasan tersebut bisa berlangsung konsisten.


"Pertama saya menyambut baik pemerintah dan penegak hukum fokus terhadap hukum industri. Saya berharap ini berlangsung konsisten," kata Ade


Ia mengaku ada sembilan pabrik anggota API Jabar yang masuk dalam daftar pembuang limbah cair temuan Tim Survei Penataan Ekosistem Citarum. Meskipun, empat pabrik di antaranya menyangkal membuang limbah tersebut.


"Kalau industri pencelupan (tekstil) tidak punya IPAL baik anggota (API) atau bukan, harus ditutup kalau terbukti bersalah nantinya," tegas dia.


Ia menuturkan pihaknya meminta pabrik yang memiliki IPAL untuk mengikuti Proper (Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan Dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup) dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK).


"Punya IPAL dibimbing diwajibkan ikut Proper. Pembinaan ini harus dilakukan sekarang dan tidak boleh dinanti-nanti," tutur Ade.
