Palm oil into the top five exports of processing industries throughout 2017, which recorded a value of Rp 272 trillion of the national total of USD 125 billion equivalent to Rp 1.673 trillion.

Followed contribution of apparel, rubber, chemical, and metal industries. Each recorded export value of Rp 90 trillion, Rp 66 trillion, Rp 59 trillion, and Rp 51 trillion. Or the value of total exports worth USD125 billion throughout 2017 was increased compared to previous years of USD 110.50 billion USD 108.60 billion.

"The export value of 2017 from the manufacturing industry is the highest contribution to 76 percent of the total national export value of USD 168.73 billion," said Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, in Jakarta.

He explained that the export of Indonesian commodities is directed to the United States, China, Europe, Japan, India, Australia and Singapore. To date, the Indonesian Government continues to negotiate with export destination countries to agree on comprehensive economic cooperation agreements.

However, the Golkar Party chairman is recognized, there are still some countries that apply tariffs too large for industrial products from Indonesia that undermine competitiveness abroad.

Europe and America, for example, set the export duty for Indonesian textile products by 5-20 percent. As for fellow Southeast Asian countries, such as Vietnam, already without import duty or zero percent.

"If the barriers can be reduced, the performance of our textile and footwear exports will continue to rise," he said. Moreover, the national textile product industry has a high competitiveness in the global market because it has been integrated from upstream to downstream. "Special sports shoes and apparel industry, we've passed China. In fact, in Brazil, we've got the market there up to 80 percent. "

Ekspor Industri Olahan Mencapai Rp 1,673 Triliun
