The business sector of textile and textile products (TPT) is happy this sector is included in one of the recipients of Income Tax Income (PPh) of the agency. They hope that these incentives can drive the business more passionate.

Through the Regulation of the Minister of Industry No.1 year 2018, the government provides an insetif of corporate income tax by 30% for 6 years or 5% annually. This incentive is necessary for the domestic TPT industry sector to be competitive.

Anne Patricia Sutanto, Vice President Director of PT Pan Brothers Tbk (PBRX) said that the tax allowance is expected to be a breath of fresh air. Clearly, the government must be serious in guarding the implementation of these rules.

"However, we have not detailed the details, so the implementation has not been felt," he said

In addition, as an export-oriented textile industry player, it asks for a government reference effort with all competitor countries. This is so that all government policies related to the textile industry can be competitive.

In addition, the government should also look at the dynamics in the global textile industry to take advantage of opportunities in the future. Because this sector is very stable and can be one of the pillars of Indonesia's development in the midst of any condition.

"What is important to us is the seriousness of the government in the negotiation of free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union, Canada, Mexico and also the Asian countries as a whole," he continued.

In addition, the government must also build a vocational school for textile industry equipped with industry-based curriculum facilities. Although the conditions are not yet ideal, PBRX set a growth target at the level of 12% -15% this year.

In line with Anne, Commissioner of PT Asia Pacific Investama Tbk (MYTX), Benny Soetrisno also welcomed the regulation. Benny, who also serves as Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, appreciates the regulation "Very supportive (tax incentives)," he added.

Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara, Economist of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) said that the timing of the regulation is timely. The reason for global textile demand is currently recovering and this year TPT exports are good prospects, so it can be a stimulus for genjot production.

"The current fiscal incentives are needed to encourage investment in the textile sector, especially investments in the opening of new factories or the reversal of old textile machinery that has been less productive," he added.

This fiscal incentive gained a positive response and opened the call for employment in the TPT sector due to new investment. However, he said that the imposition of fiscal incentives whether tax holiday or tax allowance in the TPT sector often takes time.

"Some entrepreneurs and investors are complaining about complicated tax allowance terms," he said, adding that the two tax registrations have been registered as separate tax holiday offerings.

Melalui Peraturan Menteri Perindustrian No.1 tahun 2018, pemerintah memberikan insetif potongan PPh badan sebesar 30% selama 6 tahun atau 5% setiap tahunnya.

Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara, Ekonom Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) menyampaikan bahwa keluarnya aturan ini waktunya sangat tepat.
